Mater--We got him!
My nephew Caden (2 1/2 yrs. old) loves the movie CARS and he collects the little toy cars memorabilia from the movie--they are a little bit bigger than a hot wheel and are available at Target, Wal-Mart etc. He has quite a few of them but they were not able to find the Mater truck from the movie.
When they came to visit this past weekend (see previous post) they checked the vendors at the World of Wheels car show and they found one! Later, my mom did some shopping and bought the boys some t-shirts and she also got Kieran a Mater truck--so, now Kieran and Caden both have the Mater truck!
(Side note--Kieran has never even seen the CARS movie--mostly because his attention span is not that long and if it doesn't have a tractor or a choo-choo in it, he's not real interested! However, he loves playing with trucks, so he's very happy with his Mater!)
So, later that day, Mater was sitting on the table at my grandpa's booth during the car show and 2 little boys walked by with their parents and they were so excited to see Mater on the table! They wanted to hold him and touch him etc.--which was fine. Their dad said they had been trying to find Mater and all the vendors there were sold out! I can't believe how important this little truck is! ha!
I wonder how much this thing would sell for on E-bay....

This past weekend, some of my family came to Omaha for a visit! My grandpa restores cars for a living and he comes to the World of Wheels show at the Qwest Center every year so it is nice to be able to see him and get free tickets to the show!
We celebrated my dad's birthday while they were here, did some shopping and the kids did lots of playing! They stayed at a hotel with a pool and we took Kieran down there for a dip in the pool--but, he would have nothing to do with the water! He was attached to my aunt Cy's neck the whole time we were in there! I guess it was a lot more intimidating than his little pool we have on the porch in the summer! 6 Years and Counting!
Hello! It's been awhile since I posted so I figured I would write a little note to let you know we're still here and doing good. We have been enjoying the nice outdoor weather this weekend and Kieran loves being outside! We did a little bit of yard work on Saturday afternoon and then Kieran was running around with the neighbor girls today--he would run up to their little group and they would get all googly eyed at him and talk all sweet to him--he loved it! He would run away and then run back for more! He did get his 1st official outdoor wound today--he scraped the top of his hand on the sidewalk--mommy put antibiotic cream on it--all is good.
Today, Chuck and I are celebrating 6 years or marriage! I feel extremely blessed to have Chuck as my husband and I'm so glad he picked me :-) God has blessed me--and our family--beyond measure and the blessings just keep coming--even in the tough times. We didn't do anything spectacular for our anniversary--which is fine with us--time together as a family at church this morning and this afternoon was enough for us. But, today we purchased a couch and a recliner for our living room upstairs--now if you come to visit you won't have to sit on the floor :-)
My pregnancy is going well--people say I don't look very pregnant and I'm not feeling any movement yet--which will come in the next few weeks I'm sure. I do have more aches and pains with this pregnancy and September seems a LONG ways away! But, the time will fly by and I'm sure there will still be things on the "to do" list by the time this baby comes in the early fall.

Playdate with Nathan

Just like Daddy!
Chuck took this picture of Kieran yesterday--driving his tractor and working on the blackberry--just like daddy!
On Sunday afternoon, Chuck put up new curtain rods in our bedroom and he was using his drill--of course, Kieran had to go get his play drill too! But, Kieran was having a hard time understanding why he couldn't "drill" on the wall like daddy!
