Living Proof Live!!

I had the great priviledge and opportunity to attend a 2 day Beth Moore Conference in Lincoln over the weekend with some ladies from church (plus 4,000 other women). I cannot even put into words how life-changing and great this weekend was! It. Was. Awesome!

The theme was Living Proof from Heb. 4:12 and Beth focused on "better" and how we can let "better" makes us bitter--like someone else is always better than me or my life could have been better if--and how better can make us better when it is our Savior. She had a great quote saying, "Better is not a behavior, Better is a Savior!" Again, it's hard to put into words--just come check out my notes (3 pages of them) and you'll look at the word "better" so much differently in your life!

Amy, Shea and Devon

Me, Brianna and Kerri

We had some awesome, hands lifted high praise and worship led by Travis Cottrell!

When Beth Moore spoke, the time just flew by because we were so captivated by what she was saying!

Having coffee at The Mill in Lincoln after Friday night's session

(Can you tell from these pictures that I'm trying to grow my bangs out and they're doing nothing at this point except irritating me? Yep.)

After the conference ended on Saturday, we returned to the car to find a $10 parking ticket! In downtown Omaha, the parking meters are free on the weekends. We were taking our chances that it was the same in Lincoln. We were wrong. We laughed about it. We took a picture!

I would have paid 5 parking tickets to not miss a great weekend like this!!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we celebrate all the dads in our lives! I'm so thankful and blessed to have Chuck as my husband and father of our two wonderful boys! Chuck works hard to provide for our family, spends quality time with our boys, provides me with a helping hand, loves the Lord and desires to Serve Him in his own life and to raise our boys up in the Lord, and I couldn't ask for a better man to help raise these children that God has entrusted to us. We Love our Daddy!
I had bought Chuck a Father's Day gift, wrapped it up and hid it for the big day. But, I wanted to make sure that the boys had a hand in helping pick out daddy's gift also. So, I took them shopping yesterday and we bought daddy a new golf shirt. We came home and I told Kieran it was a surprise for daddy for tomorrow. Kieran was so excited to hide the present in his dresser until Father's Day. Well, daddy came home from work and the conversation happened like this:

Kieran: Daddy, we have a surprise for you!
Me: Not until tomorrow, the surprise is for Father's Day tomorrow.
Kieran: We got you a golf shirt daddy!

I had a feeling the surprise was going to come out early, hence the reason I didn't let Kieran know what the other gift was for daddy! Kieran made daddy close his eyes and follow him into the bedroom so he could get the gift out of his dresser. He was so excited!!--and so was daddy!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads in our life!

In other funny news...When I was out shopping with the boys yesterday, Kieran was playing at a lego table at Carter's with another little boy and this is what I heard:

(Sorry for the extra spacing--not sure why blogger is making you read a short story in long form!)

Other boy: My mom is pregnant and I'm going to have a baby sister

Kieran: I'm going to have a baby sister too!

Me: No you're not!

Kieran: Yes, I am! Go away mom, I can't talk to him when you're standing here!

I guess I'm already cramping my sons style--he is, after all, 4 years old!!

Wordless Wednesday!

"Chicken Flies"

While I was receiving my Remicade treatment on Monday, Chuck took the boys out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. Every time Kieran tells me a story about their eating out experience (like what he had to eat, or the tv they had at their table, his balloon losing all the air etc.) he calls it "Chicken Flies." It is just too funny! In his mind, he had chicken to eat and the animal on the logo has wings--must be "Chicken flies!"

Spring is Back?

Popsicle stocked freezer, tan lines, water activities outside, blooming flowers, weekly lawn mowing and a fully functioning air conditioner--yep, summer is here! Well, it was but now it seems to have left us because the temps are back in the 70's with rain--but, we're not complaining!

I think it may be a few more days before we see this scene (taken last week) again:

Too much swimming fun wore him out!

Sand in the City

We ventured downtown Omaha today to check out "Sand in the City." The sand sculptures were cool to see and the boys loved playing in the piles of sand! The Cars themed sand sculpture was definitely Kieran's favorite!
