A little of this...a little of that!

I'm playing a little catch up with this blog posting!
So many fun pictures to share with you...but too many other life things happening to get them on the blog in a timely manner...or on their own postings!
A few pictures I thought you might enjoy....
Chloe all Blinged out!

Kieran received new John Deere Legos for his birthday.
Daddy and Kieran put one of the sets together on a Sunday afternoon:

A new John Deere tractor and planter!

This little sweetie fell asleep on the floor one day....so tired!

Easter crafts....yes, this was way back in April!

Using toilet paper rolls, peanut butter and bird seed to make some goodies to put in the trees for the birds....and we were all surprised to see the birds actually eating it one day!

A family portrait!

Sometime soon...I hope....I can get the rest of the May pictures off the camera to share with you too! I look forward to that day....

Drop and Run!

In the midst of our backyard project, we celebrated May Day!!
The kids made May Day baskets for their neighbor friends and they had lots of fun being sneaky when they delivered them!
We sat the May Day goodies on the front porch, rang the doorbell and then ran around and hid beside the house!

Getting ready to deliver the goodies!
It was a bit chilly so the kids had to wear them warm coats...but last year we delivered them in the car because we had freezing rain on May 1st...and it snowed the next day!
Glad we didn't see snow this year!!

Lotsa Dirt...and Lotsa Green!!

The final stages of the backyard project:
Fill dirt and sod!!
Because our dirt has so much clay in it, we had to bring in fill dirt to put on top so our sod would have a good "foundation" to root and grow!!

Because the patio was in place and done...and we couldn't run the bobcat over it, the dirt had to be taken to its needed location with a wheelbarrow.

Chuck's mom spent the day with us on Sunday and she was a huge help!

Three men from church came over to help us out on Sunday...we feel so thankful and blessed for all the people that have lent a helping hand to us!

After the fill dirt was in place on Sunday, Chuck put down the final piece of the puzzle on Monday...Sod!!

He was able to watch the crew at the sod farm cut our fresh sod!

That's a lot of green sod!!

A time consuming process!

Our friend and neighbor Jesse came over to help....Chuck was thankful!

Wow!! Green never looked so good!!

This backyard project would not have happened if it wasn't for my hard working husband Chuck and all the people that helped us out!
Weeks before this project ever began, Chuck was planning out things on paper, taking measurements, making lists, ordering materials and doing so much prep work before the job began!
We have a new backyard that we can enjoy for years to come and I'm so thankful for all of Chuck's hard work and dedication in this project!

Lotsa Sand!

After the retaining walls were finished, it was time to start the patio!!
Thankfully, we had 4 good days in a row of sunshine and warm temperatures!!
Believe it or not, we ran out of rock so Chuck had to go buy more for the patio project!

Rock spreading!

Kieran helped tamper the rock down!

Here comes the sand!

First corner of brick laid in a pattern!

Leveling sand!

Our friend from church, Dave, came and helped with the patio! If it weren't for Dave and his expertise, the patio would have taken waayyyy longer than it did!
The bricks were laid on Saturday and then Dave came back on Sunday afternoon to help out by cutting all the edging for the patio by himself!

Special sand going on the patio to fill in the cracks.

A little bit of water and.....

Done!!!

Lotsa Rain!

It seems like quite awhile since I updated the blog...life has been way too busy with this backyard project, baseball games, school programs and just the everyday stuff of taking care of a family!

So, hopefully I can start posting some more pictures for you of the backyard project!
We received lots of rain during a couple of days while this project was going on...but Chuck was still able to get some work done.

A friend from church, Nick, came over to lend a helping hand!
It was cold, rainy and yucky outside but they got a lot accomplished!

You can see the 2nd wall taking shape!!

Chucks' dad and Cordie came out to help us for a few days also!
Finishing up the 2nd wall!

Putting the cap on the top!!

Cordie was a big help inside the house also with the kids, meals etc.!

That bobcat is loud!!

Finished walls!!! Yeah!!!

Jim, Cordie and
Grandkids!
