Pumpkin Patch!

It's that time of year again....pumpkin patch time! Kiptyn starts asking in June when the pumpkin patch is going to be open!!
Thanks to our neighbor, we had a season pass this year so we were able to enjoy the patch for a few hours at a time during the week nights when it wasn't so busy!

Corn!!

Jumping Pillows!!

The new pie barn is open with new tractors outside of it...including a pink one!!

The Big Slide!!
The kids loved this and went down it numerous times!

Hay Rack Ride!!

We also went with some neighbor friends one night!

There is always so much to do at the pumpkin patch and it's great that we can have some fun, family time together in the fall!

A Day Full of Bears

Last Sunday, we traveled to Des Moines to see Chuck's dad, Jim, and his wife Cordie. They had a wonderful Sunday lunch ready for us when we got there and we spent the afternoon hanging out and eating desserts!
We brought the kids each a new little lego set to put together while we were there.

Legos!

Playing a marble game with Cordie.

Sunday afternoons are perfect for relaxing....and watching cartoons!

Chloe and Cordie.

Just playing some cards...

The kids with Jim and Cordie.

Two kids sacked out on the way home!

We stopped at Daniel and Rachel's house on the way home to see Grandma Bear who was visiting and also play more Legos with cousins!!

It was a great day to see so many people and we're thankful for the safe travels!

Red Shirt Society

We were able to travel back to Kansas this past weekend to attend the 25th Anniversary Celebration of my grandparents' business.
It was a great weekend full of work, fun and lots of family!
The kids ready to head to the open house in their 25th Anniversary Ron's Restoration t-shirts!

Cousins!

Start your Engines with your plates and silverware!

So many people worked hard to put this celebration together!
From cleaning, painting, food preparations, decorations and all the behind the scenes work...it was a family affair to make this happen!
We had a lunch on Sunday for the family and the car show participants, followed by an open house that afternoon for the public.

Cupcakes and Candy at the Winner's Circle!

Water, tea and coffee available at the Refueling Station!

Chuck helped serve the meal!

It was a beautiful day for a car show outside!

I told the kids right away when we got there not to touch any of the cars! Chloe was quick to remind her brothers "No touch!"

Our family!

My parents with their Grandkids!

My grandparents and owners of the business, Ron and Sondra Kester, with their Great Grandkids!

My grandparents with their 4 daughters.

The whole Gang...minus one cousin and one cousin-in-law.

It was a wonderful weekend and we're so glad we were able to make it back to join the festivities and see lots of family too!

25 Classic Years

My grandparents own a business down in KS called Ron's Restoration.
This October they are celebrating 25 years!
The kids always love going to Poppy's shop, seeing the cars, visiting (and playing) with aunt Nette or Grandma Shelia in the office, bugging the staff and checking out the goodies in the break room!

In honor of the Anniversary, we had some pictures taken in our business shirts as a gift to my grandparents and as a keepsake for us.

When my grandpa started the business 25 years ago, he brought the black and white design layout to the grandchildren (I believe there were only 3 of us at that time) to color for the business logo and t-shirt color.
I colored mine with neon highlighters and that is the color design that was chosen...so these shirts have a little extra meaning for me.

Chuck and I are wearing t-shirts that we all received as a gift last Christmas. My grandpa's car that he restored for himself (one of them) is pictured on the shirts.
When I was younger, my brother and I had the opportunity to attend a Nationals Car Show event in Louisville, KY with my grandpa and my aunt. We traveled in my grandpa's car with a miniature horse trailer pulled behind that he had built and painted to match the car.
We have a lot of fun memories from that trip!!
My own kids love to take a ride in Poppy's car to this day also!!

Congratulations Grandpa Ronnie (Poppy) and Grandma Sondra!!
