Lazy Sunday Afternoon
Usually when we travel back to visit my parents, it seems like we have to rush back home on Sunday for something! Either we or my parents have something going on Sunday evening so it's church, lunch, leave. But, this last time we went back, there were no Sunday plans so we were able to spend the day with my parents! We went to church, ate lunch and then hung out together outside.
Chloe and Grandma!
Chloe and Grandpa!
Grandma got some sand for the boys to play with! They loved putting it in their trucks, dumping it, building with it....and making a mess outside!
Chloe enjoyed some playtime on a blanket under the shade tree! It was a perfect day!
Jumping Bean
Chloe loves the "Johnny Jump Up!" The minute you put her in it, she's all smiles and bouncing all around in the doorway! All of my kids liked it, but I don't remember Kieran using it too much--probably because we were in an apartment and it wasn't as convenient--or probably because I didn't have other kids to take care of so he didn't need to be entertained or contained as much. Yes, that's probably it! Either way, I bought it at a consignment sale and it's still bouncing strong!
I love this "mid-air" jump!
Bouncing can really wear a baby out!

Big Day, Big Kids!
Kieran had his 1st day of Kindergarten today! We had open house at the school on Tuesday of this week so he was able to see his classroom and meet his teacher. He was excited but a bit nervous all at the same time. He didn't eat much for breakfast because he said his stomach hurt. But, after we got his lunch packed and took some pictures, he was ready to go!!
My little man all ready for school!
A picture with mommy!
Walking down the sidewalk to school. Doesn't he look so big with that backpack on?!
Sitting at his spot at the table. This is the part where he was really nervous but he did great! I figured I would be shedding some tears on the way to the car, but I didn't. I knew he was in a great place with great people to help him! I did watch the clock all day wondering what he was doing at that hour and how much time before I could pick him up. I thought about him so much today and prayed for my little guy and his new adventure!
When he got home he said, "I loved it this much, " with his arms spread out as wide as they could go! I'm so glad he enjoyed his first day and is looking forward to the next....
Not only did Kieran start school today, but Chloe is 6 months old today too! Wow! She is such a happy baby (just like her older brothers were) and she is a joy to have around! She's working on sitting up, eating solids, still sleeping through the night (yeah!) and loves having attention from all of us! She recently had her first cold but thankfully it was short-lived!
Kiptyn didn't necessarily have any "milestones" today but I just had to add some pictures of him too! Pictures and Kiptyn don't really go well together in the same sentence! He's really not into the whole picture taking thing right now! So, I had to snap these while he was running around being "Batman!"
Hard to believe that he'll be 3 years old in a few weeks!
It was a Big, Exciting Day in our house for my little Big kids!
Looking forward to tomorrow and all that they will learn....

Classmates and Cowboys
Growing up in Phillipsburg, KS, the rodeo was a childhood tradition for me. Phillipsburg is home to Kansas' Biggest Rodeo--always the first weekend in August. We would attend the rodeo with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles--all sitting together of course! So, it was special being able to take my boys to their first rodeo this past weekend! I had my 15 year class reunion on Saturday at the park and then it was up town for the annual rodeo parade:
Our family always sat towards the end of the parade route (not sure why?) but the boys still got tons of candy!
Watching Poppy's cars go through the parade!
Once the firetrucks went through the parade and were done with their sirens, Chloe fell asleep! We had to put a blanket on her because the weather was a cool 80 degrees with overcast skies and some rain drops!! Not what we're used to this summer!
Kiptyn thought part of the parade was too loud!
Candy, frisbees, balloons, popsicles and pens were included in the parade loot!!
Kieran sitting by his cousins at the rodeo!
Prairie Dusters
Hmmm...we seem to have a trend going with Kiptyn and loud noises! He plugged his ears after the rodeo clowns did their first act and he didn't unplug them until he got to the van!!
