Check-Ups

The boys had their 1 year and 3 year check-ups with their pediatrician yesterday. They both checked out well and both of them received shots! Kieran got a flu shot and Kiptyn got his immunizations and a finger poke! Needless to say, neither one of them was too happy with us when we left the doctor's office--but they promptly fell asleep in the car and all was well :-) Below are the latest "stats" on our growing boys!

Weight: 31.8 lbs.

Height: 38"

Kieran has grown a lot since he was a baby--he used to be in the 1-5th percentile on the charts and he is now in the 33rd percentile for his weight and 32nd percentile for his height. That's for all of you that are into the whole chart thing! :-)

Kieran attends preschool 2 afternoons a week, loves reading books and playing with anything boyish! He loves being outside, helping daddy with special projects and playing with the neighbor kids. He's very talkative and can tell you some pretty interesting stories!

Weight: 18 lbs. 7 oz.

Height: 28 1/4"

Kiptyn is on the small side, like his brother was! The doctor isn't concerned because of our family history and how good his older brother is doing now in the weight dept.

Kiptyn has 6 teeth and is loving table food now. He also LOVES his sippy cup of Vit. D milk--I think we're going to have to buy a gallon a week just for him!

He also loves to be outside and he is very busy getting into things he shouldn't be! He can say about 5 words, loves pushing cars and trucks on the floor and laughs at his older brother all the time!

We're very thankful for our happy, healthy boys!

Happy Birthday Bears!

Because there are so many people (6 of them!) with September birthdays on the Bear side, we get together to celebrate with one big party. This year Kiptyn got to join in on the birthday fun by celebrating his birthday too---with his cousin Luke who also turned one!

And that concludes the birthday parties for Kiptyn this year--wow--3 parties, 1 cake, 2 cupcakes, friends, family, gifts and lots of thankfulness for this little boy's life---We are Blessed!

Partying with Friends!

We had our friends and neighbors over for a little party to celebrate Kiptyn's 1st birthday. I re-used the decorations from our other party, baked some cupcakes, made a few invitations and tada--it's a party! It was a nice little get together with Kieran and Kiptyn's little friends from our street.

Kiptyn's 1st Birthday!

If you've followed this blog for any length of time, you know that birthday parties are a big deal at our house---when I say a big deal, I mean we celebrate numerous times! But, that is what happens when you have family and friends in Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska that love your kids and want to help them celebrate life! So, we traveled to Kansas for the first birthday party last weekend and here are some highlights:

As you can see, Kiptyn loved his cake! It's a good thing that big brother Kieran was there to help him open his gifts because he wasn't too much into that---until they were unwrapped and out of the box---then he was all about the toys!

First Day of Preschool!

Kieran had his 1st day of preschool today! He was very excited to go and even more excited to take his new Thomas backpack! He did very well and the first thing he told me when we got in the car was that he was a good boy! Now that's what mommy likes to hear :-)
