Christmas is Finally Here!!

The Title of this posting "Christmas is Finally Here" is meant to explain how excited the kids were after counting down the days until Christmas....or it could mean that it's finally here because I have finally posted the picture after more than a month!
Life gets busy, the stomach bug hits and then influenza A hits your house, snow comes, work happens and the body needs sleep too!
Anyway, I'm happy to share some photos from Christmas Day 2014!!
I have many memories as a child of going to bed on Christmas Eve (after spending time and opening gifts with my dad's side of the family) and laying in bed trying to go to sleep...wondering what Santa was going to leave by the tree during the night!
So, when our kids came downstairs to our room at my parents house on Christmas morning to say that Santa had been there with excitement in their voices, it made me smile and took me down memory lane!

New Legos for the boys and a baby doll car seat for Chloe!

This year we stuck with our gift plan of 4 gifts for the kids.
Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.
This works great for our family and helps us stay on budget!

Kieran has been taking art lessons from a local lady and this is the Eagle that he did...we framed it and he gave it to daddy for Christmas!

The kids all got a flashlight in their stocking!!
It's amazing how much entertainment these can provide!

Chloe helping mommy open her gift...cash and gift cards! Woohoo! :-)

After our morning of opening presents as a family, we got ready to head down south into Kansas to celebrate with Cheryl's family on her mom's side.

First we stopped and saw my great grandma Loree at the nursing home.

Our family.

My family.

Kieran received a few art sets and he has enjoyed them all!

Batman!!

Chloe got a dollhouse from my aunt and uncle!

My grandparents received an Ipad for Christmas...my cousin gave them pointers and instructions on how to use it...grandma made sure to take notes!

It was a busy day full of fun memories!!
We traveled back home to Gretna on the Friday after Christmas with one full van and one sick kid as Kieran caught the stomach bug that morning after I had it in Colorado.....Kiptyn got it on New Years Eve. But, we were still able to get together for some more great family time on Sunday with the Bear family....stay tuned!
