3-Day Party Weekend!

1 Horse-Themed Birthday Party for my niece on Saturday; 1 Surprise 30th Birthday Party for my friend on Sunday; 1 BBQ with Neighbors on Monday= A 3 Day Holiday Weekend!

And, I only took pictures 1 out of the 3 days! You can't blame me for enjoying my weekend of doing nothing--including not toting my camera around to take pictures. But, I did take some pictures of our Memorial Day acitivities for your viewing pleasure. You're Welcome!

Chuck's sister Violet and her family came down on Saturday and stayed until Monday! It was nice having them here to visit and they joined us in the "not doing much of anything" phase of the weekend! We ate, we layed around and talked, we played outside, we layed around some more..you get the picture! We did fly some kites on Monday!

Kiptyn taking his turn at holding the kite string! He did really well and then shortly after this picture was taken, he let go of the string--and the kite took a long, high flight into the nearby trees!

Kiptyn, Luke (my nephew) and Kieran in the wagon.

My nephew Luke looking cool and cute!

We had a BBQ on Monday with some neighbors, where we sat around and ate some more!

The kids actually got some exercise on the trampoline!

It was a good weekend of doing not much of anything, but Chuck and I have talked about taking our boys to an actual Memorial Day Service or Cemetary on Memorial Day so they can understand what the day really means--it's not just about sales at the mall and eating! We are so thankful for the men and women who have served and do serve in our military so that we can have the freedoms that we have.

We were discussing Memorial Day in the car and explaining to Kieran what it means. Chuck was talking about how we have the freedom to live in this country, attend Church and worship God freely etc. Kieran says, "And freedom to chase birds?" Yes, son, you have the freedom to chase birds--and kites.
